ERAC4U New support for teachers!

Personalized Learning using Pixton Comics & ToonBoom!

Many educators have been struggling to find ways to personalize the learning that is happening in their classes and activities.  One strategy involves getting students to focus on demonstrating their own thinking as they work through an activity or project.

Two 21st Century tools you can use today  as potential resources to engage students  in this goal are Pixton Comics and ToonBoom.

Both of these tools allow your students to get very creative, creating traditional comics, or animated videos that are entirely customizable and very personalized to your individual students.  What these two tools allow your students to do, is to give them a platform with which they can demonstrate their thinking, learning and understanding of their learning.   To read  more about how to use these tools for learning  click here.

What is  ERAC4U?

To better support teachers using ERAC products that either their districts have purchased or are provided by ERAC, we’ve created an ERACCommons group that will house access information, user tips and classroom resources.  Each month we will feature a  product that ERAC currently has an agreement with  and provide related links so that teachers can better understand the product, its curricular uses and information on how to access.

Why ERAC4U?

We often hear from our members that educators are often not aware of the products that their districts or independent schools have already purchased or are available as part of their ERAC memberships.  ERAC does promote these products in our newsletter, at PSA conferences and other educator events.  We hope this new initiative will also reach BC educators and help to create a community group.  As an ERAC commons member, you will be able to contribute to postings and share your expertise as well.

To access this group:

1. First register as a new user or sign in.  The new user registration link is in the top tool bar.

Please note that only ERAC members are able to register in the Commons.  If you are not sure your district or independent school is a member, check the District Contacts link on the ERAC home page.

2. Click on Groups and look for ERAC4U.  After you have clicked on  ERAC4U, click on the Blog link.  This will take you to the group home page.

If there are any ERAC products you’d like us to spotlight please drop us a line or post in this group.  The success of this community depends on  its members and we hope that you will take advantage of participating and sharing your ideas.
